No more, cakes, no more.

Nah, I'm not stopping baking, but I am stopping the eating of the cakes.

I am, as of tomorrow, back on my slimming world food eating. Back to healthy eating and what not. I slowly introduced healthy food back into my diet, after a 2 week hiatus, last week. I ate mostly healthy things and was then eating bad snacks in the middle. I don't usually snack on bad things so I should be able to snap out of the habit pretty quickly. But yes, next week I am going to put a stop to this post-holiday madness.

I haven't really put on that much weight since the joyous days in December, probably about 5lbs - so if I work on it I could lose that in a week, 2 tops. Then I'm back in business. I started my new work out regime yesterday too and good god, my legs. MY LEGS! I'm kind of looking forward to the 2nd day burn that usually follows a bitch of a workout. I'm already hobbling so we'll see what happens. Eeks.

I'm also restarting my writing project tomorrow. Over 1000 words a day will be achieved just so I can put a lid on the novel, shelf it for a month (which will be Feb) and start to edit in March, most probably. This should give me enough time to look into how you go about sending into to publishers etc. Because that's the part my brain is foggy on. The correct protocol. Though I'm kind of lucky my course will explain all of this, so all I have to do is skip ahead several chapters and find what I'm looking for. This is the year of Sam, and the year Sam (who's me... keep up!) will finally realise her dream of writing.

And to keep you all posted, I'm on book 3 of 2012, so the challenge is going well. Just need to whack my reviews onto the other blog. I'll get that sorted this week, I swear!

If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit

Join our club! You don't really have to join. But you should consider it. I just wanted to hit up a quick post to update y'all on my recent weight loss acheivement. I have now lost 10% of my body weight, which is pretty nifty. The loss in general has slowed down, but I'm still losing every week, so its a good thing. Just trying to make sure I don't put any back on, which is hard considering I have a boyfriend who likes to make delicious pizza's at 2 in the morning. You know, right when you have the after midnight munchies. Humph! But oh well! Tomorrow is going to be a good day. i can feel it. I get to spend it with him. I love midweek days together, they happen very very rarely. So... nothing else to say? Nope. I didn't think so! bye all! sam

Quite cold really!

Brrr.
Even though it was a brilliantly sunny day today it was still quite cold. I'm waiting for the warmth, Mother Nature... where is it?
So - hello followers of sorts! I know, I know, it's been a while since I last did this. But every time I went to click 'New Blog' (or whatever the button says), I had the fear. The fear is a terrible thing, but also a good thing because I suppose it should mean I did other 'life' stuff instead of sitting here blogging.
I didn't.
To put it bluntly, I have been cheating on you, Oh blog of sorts. I have been 'blogging' on Tumblr for the past month or so. Which shouldn't be as addictive as it is. Basically it's a cheats guide to blogging, but also a great lazy way to stay in a blogging community. As all people pretty much do is blog pictures and stuff, and if you find the right people to follow you can get some pretty nice photos and quotes and such that make you feel all warm inside.
My blog is something like www.tumblr.com/scumbagsam - I think... I have just been posting pictures and such. It's a great link up to the site www.weheartit.com which is where most of the pictures come from and go to - like a vicious circle - but it's pretty cool if you like finding pictures of certain things etc. So that's basically where I've been hiding.
As of late in the REAL world - not much going on. Work has been mega hectic and stress inducing - it's tipping me over the edge and I will soon be insane from the pressure of it all. But hey ho! Uni work has been pretty good - although I have been having problems with Word on my laptop which meant I had to blitz an assignment in 2 1/2 days, which took some speedy typing and *wishful* thinking. I hope I pulled it off. Eeks!
I have been dieting still - slimming world - and I missed last weeks weigh in as I went to see Ray Lamontagne play a gig at the Bridgewater in Manchester (he was insanely good as per) but I am pretty sure I have lost a stone so far. So that is good news! :)
I have been watching many a movie - I saw the alien comedy Paul today which I liked despite thinking I wouldn't. Seth Rogan's voice is pretty much the sexiest voice in the world to me right now... aaaaand - that's basically it I think...
Not much goes on in the world of Sam. I have a few pictures of Manchester I might post soon, along with a description of a cool Milkshake bar I have found. I might also post a recipe or two for some good meals that are healthy if anyone is interested... if not I might start a new food blog. But I always say this and never do - so we shall see what happens and how much time I have to do these things!
Adios!

More Fashion and Makeup

YO!

So, I have noticed a trend in the blogs of mine that get the most views. It's the ones that have the coolest pictures! hehe. I am not all about getting views, but the knowledge that some 40 odd people have looked at my last fashion blog just this week is pretty cool. So I thought I'd do a follow up. Sorry guys... this one might be for the girls... unless you like scantily clad women... oh.. you do? Well stick around then! Jeez!

What with my gradual weight loss I have been thinking more about future wardrobe choices. As I am somewhat a casual bird - jeans and tops. And I live in my converse sneakers! But with my losing weight I feel that soon I will one day be able to comfortably take a dip in the nice fashion pool. I love dresses, but hate wearing them as I don't feel comfortable, but one day this year I will wear a nice dress and that's that! So, here are some pictures of some clothes I like.

Another topic I wanted to discuss is makeup. As some of you know I am a make up artist of sorts. And there are some great looks on the runways at the moment. (see below). I am not one to preach about products as its a totally personal preference. But I swear by Benefit. I love all their products.

This was the look stomping down the runway at Roberto Cavalli's show. You'd think this was simple and done to death, but getting someone to look like this is pretty difficult if you don't have the right face/tools it just won't work! I have tried to do this makeup on myself before but my eyes just won't take that much makeup. It doesn't look good on everyone sadly!

This is an Estee Lauder look - loving the almost copper eyes that are coming in. metallics are back baby!

Oh China Fashion Week... you tease me! You should google China fashion week. The stuff they come up with is SO good.

*Regular day blog to arrive on Tuesday after Slimming World weigh in.*

I don't know what I'm doing!

Meh!

I just got back from my slimming world group (late, may I add, as I was talked into weighing everyone!), and only lost 1lb this week. Or last week even. Which has bummed me out totally! I know any kind of loss is good, but I was really hoping for 2lbs at the least, as that would have taken me over the half a stone mark in 2 weeks. But I guess I should learn to take a victory no matter how small, even though I hardly ate at all last week because I didn't really have an appetite... humph. Pissed off, but I'll get over it! At least I didn't put weight on!

I am not just going to talk about that though. For today... today I start a new book. And I'm quite excited about that. I have been mourning the end of the last book I read for about a week. I was really gutted it ended (it wasn't just one book, it was the last of a series), so I was all sad about not reading about the characters anymore. But after some self reflection, I have come out of the other end of the depression with a new lease of life and a new book in my hand from the pile of books I got for Christmas.

This weeks book is The Strain, by Guillermo del Toro (writer and director of films such as Pan's labyrinth and Hellboy II). I was really looking forward to getting this book when it first came out and am really peeved I didn't make the effort to get it from waterstones in Manchester, as he was doing a signing, but oh well. At least I have it now, and can get on with reading it. I don't know much about it, but it seems like it will be a thriller, mystery with vampires? I didn't want to Google it and ruin it for myself, so I am going in blind. I can't wait.

I have recently been to the cinema and also watched a couple of DVD's! (me? watch films...? well that almost never happens... not!).

I saw The Dilemma - which was ok and kind of funny, but not as hilarious as I would have liked.

I saw Black Swan - which was great. Sad, depressing, a little scary and rude. But pure brilliance and so clever and captivating.

I also watched Dog Soldiers on DVD, as it was £3 and my dad said it was quite good so I bought it. It was ok. Werewolves were scary as hell but the film was hilarious as it was so... strange. You'd think werewolves would make people scream... lots of screaming in the film... people being scared and confused.... but there was none of that. Which was odd, but made it even more amusing! And for such a small budget film it was pretty incredible!

I think that's all from me. I don't have anything to say that's slightly entertaining etc. So live long and prosper, and if I see you in a dark alleyway any time soon, I'll be sure to drain your blood and leave you for dead... wait... did I say that out loud? Too many vampire stories for me!
