Kill the Bat Man

Yes. I have seen Batman... twice. What? I like batman films, Ok?

What I'm really doing here is procrastinating because I have to go for a run and I don't wanna. But I will because I told my boyfriend I was going to be a superhero and now I have to train. My tactics will be avoidance- based. I don't want to fight people, so I'm going to build up my running and my upper body strength so if faced with a criminal I can hit them really hard - hopefully slowing them down - and then I'll outrun them.

I'll probably be called something like Bed Bug, because they get you, but you can never find the damn things to get them back! Holllaaaaaa!

IN other news, yes I did like Batman. A lot. I love Uncle Alfred (I always call him that ever since Alecia Silverstone squealed it in her incredibly indecent catholic school uniform), he was the best. He can literally make me cry with just a look! And I loved Bane... there's actually more to that than then film though as I had a dream about Tom Hardy and we were madly in love and when I woke up I've loved him ever since. listen to me. I say this like it's been on going for ever. This was last week. But it's ok, because my boyfriend said if I was going to leave him for anyone it would be ok for it to be Tom Hardy because he's amazing. Yes... if anyone knows Mr. Hardy please send him my way. Look, I'm just saying that we really hit it off in my dream and he even tried to save me from drowning.... it was a strange dream.

I've done a good enough job at putting off the inevitable and this blog has turned into something I didn't expect. Here's a picture of Bane for you to shake in your boots at. I honestly thought he was terrifying in that film. Why is he so big and strong? (I don't know, but my eyes aren't complaining).

If he ever needs another hostage... well... no, Sam, you've taken this too far now. Pervert.

spiderman, spiderman.

Hello world!
So, I went to see 2 films yesterday at my local cinemaaaar. What were those two films? I hear you ask. Well. Hold on, damn it. You're so impatient.

The first one was... Katy Perry: 3D. Don't judge. Look, I pay a set price every month for the cinema so I can go as many times as I want and yes, OK, there is no glossing over the fact that I did indeed choose to watch this film. But... I love Katy Perry! Her songs are the best pop songs in the history of pop. Kind of. Anyway, all you need to know is I enjoyed it thoroughly. I was quite sad when her and Russell broke up, but you know what, she deserves better. There, I said it. Yes, I am too emotionally involved in her life. Whatever!

The 2nd film I watched yesterday was The Amazing Spiderman (aka Spiderman. They named it 'The Amazing' as they wanted to A. distance it from the Toby Maguire series, and 2. because they wanted to make people aware that they have actually chosen to go down the route of the alternate story. More on this later). I really enjoyed it. I like the 'original', if you can call it that, but this one was fun and I liked the alternative story of how he got the spider bite, and who his parents were (are??) and I liked that his girlfriend was the quirky Gwen Stacey rather than plain old Mary-Jane ( aka 'MJ', ergh). I liked the way his abilities were more spider-like and I liked that he didn't have organic web. Yes, that is the main difference with this series really - in one version of the comic books Spidey has the organic web we are so aware of. You know, his 'thwip-thwip' pressing of the palm with his fingers spiderwebbing that he shoots around the place. In this one he has created this webbing himself. Kind of. And it's a good story and all works well together. Down points, if I could call them that, is that it's not THAT much different from the other Spiderman film looks wise. The effects are better but only just and some of the cinematography is really similar. I know, that's picky because it's set in NY, so what else are they going to show, but I just mean the actually 'look' of it is, well, I guess Marvel have a specific vision so I should just shut up. I loved the score, but it too had a certain tone and melody that tied it in with the other films. Maybe it was done on purpose. I'll never know... unless I google it. Which I won't.

I recommend both of these films, by the way. I do!

Right, I should really be DIY-ing, but I have sores on my hands from screwdrivering! Humph!

My internet is back, baby... BACK!

Woo!

Yessss. I have had it back for about 2 weeks to be fair, but just haven't had time to blog recently. Its been a bit of a roller coaster month so far. I don't even know where to begin...

I have been trying to spend as much time with my boyfriend as possible, as the unthinkable happened the other day - his mum died. It was really awful (still is, obviously), and I just want to make sure I am there for him as much as I can be. The funeral was on Monday so I was with him and his family from 12 until 11:45pm. Not really a great start to the year, what with my grandad dying in January. I am both grateful I have him, and glad I am with him because I don't know how he would even cope without a little bit of Sam-Distraction techniques. :(

Wow, that's a bummer right there. Onto more positive things. I have bought and been trying to play the PS3 Call of Duty, modern warfare 2. Which is horribly addictive but hilariously fun at the same time! Been to the cinema a lot too recently (as part of my amazing distracting skills), and seen Blind Side (worth it, for sure!), Shutter Island (great thriller), Kick Ass (meh) and something else, which I have just forgotten which in my mind means it can't have been that good.

I have also been trying my hardest to do productive things. Well, kind of productive. Keeping up with TV shows (Vampire diaries, True Blood, Caprica) and reading this very addictive book series I found by chance, as well as trying to create some sort of digital art portfolio just for fun (I am... oh, say 1% in so far...) and I have also been trying to clean up my lap top by storing some stuff and just backing it up on an external hard drive. Sounds easy... it ain't. Its a pain in the ass! Grrrr.

I'm quite proud of myself for booking a wedding in this year to do a friends make up, on my own - without my sister as she is on her hols. Thankfully it's a friend, otherwise I would have had to say no.. I'm too scared to do stuff on my own usually. Something I have to try to work on at some point in my life! :P

Its me and my boyfriends one year anniversary on Monday and I am really looking forward to it. I do feel like I have been neglecting my friends due to recent events (although I am sure they understand), and I have made a mental note that after Monday I will make up for it, totally, but this weekend is all about trying to make it as good as it can be without his mum here. She was such a nice person - and its really still bonkers to think she isn't here anymore, so this weekend is my ultimate priority at the moment. Not that I am putting any unneeded pressure on it or anything. Ha! I was trying to sort out a really sweet, romantic present to give him on top of the new bedding and X box controller (so romantic there are sure to be films about it next year), by putting all our old emails into a properly bound and printed book, but so far its proving difficult, especially with the deadline. You see, from January last year until December we pretty much emailed each other every day - and I'm talking epic sized, 7 or 8 paragraphed emails that took about an hour to write. We would talk about everything and anything. Its how we got together in the first place because he was really shy and quiet and I think he was scared to talk to me. (Imagine, little old me!). So here I am, thinking it will be a doddle.... I go on the Internet and get this programme everyone raves about called 'Book smart' -and yeah, it looks simple. Easy. I set about copy and pasting a years worth of emails into this programme. Then design the cover (which looks cool btw), and then I need to edit some pages. STOP PRESS. The programme crashes now every time I open it - so 3-4 hours worth of work, at least, now seems pointless. Grrrr... I am about to attempt it again but I don't think this book will get realised in time for our anniversary! Humph!

On a last note I finished my college course. Pretty much finished what I was making and am confident I can make a skirt from scratch now... at some point I will try to make one i will actually wear!

Well, must try this programme again!

Toodles all!

Just have time..

So...
I just have time to post a quick blog. My useless blogging of late has left me feeling a bit annoyed with myself, because I like ranting to myself... and when I don't blog I just speak all the stupid thoughts I have in my head out loud, and then people look at me funnily. Oh well, if they aren't used to it by now, then screw them! Yeah, I said it!
I have watched a few really good films of late. A couple at the cinema; which, thanks to my new shiny Unlimited pass, means I no longer spend £7 per showing- and a couple of DVD's.
Cinema excursions of late have included heart wrenching factual based dramas like Confessions of a Shopaholic, and straight to the point documentaries like The Curious Case of Forrest Gump... I mean, Benjamin Button. How could I get those 2 mixed up? What a foolish mistake!
Please note the sarcasm... please.
Of course, DVD's are just as entertaining. There is sometimes nothing better than sitting in and watching something you have never seen before. The other day I watched Rain Man. I have no clue how I hadn't seen it before. I mean, I know some of the lines etc. But I have never watched the film. It was damn good. I am so late into these things...
If I can make one recommendation that I know people will listen to and then hate me for later, its a film called The Hunger, with David Bowie and Susan Sarandon, amoungst others. Its a vampire film, but not as you know it.. no, there is no singing and crotch thrusting, like you would expect from D.B... which I was sad about, but its a really good tale about 2 vampires - slightly more appealing to men may be that there is quite a few lesbian scenes in it - but other than that, its quite a good story. I can't really elaborate any more, because its easier to watch it than it is to hear about it and THEN watch it... I have been lent a couple of other Vampire films to watch, so can't wait to get stuck in. If you know of any that are good - please let me know. I do like a good vampire tale. :)
Nothing much more to report on in my life I don't think. Make up is going well I think - although I have a tendency to feel a kind of dull aching panic when I am doing someones face. I feel like the n00b of the class, but I do really enjoy it - and I think I am quite good at it, in the end... during the procedure I am very messy, get stuff everywhere and just rely on luck for my 'looks' to be achieved, but they always look good in photos, which is what its all about. Also got my brush kit and brush belt, so I am like a fully kitted out make up artist. Hell yeah. I will try to put some pictures up soonish - if I ever manage to make the time to get them onto the computer.
Another furiously busy week - got to go out to meet friends tonight - the cinema tomorrow (Watchmen, Woo!) and my mothers birthday on Wednesday - what to get her though? What do mums want?
Right - I have just been text a location and time to meet some people. Its like a damn espionage film. I shall put on my trench coat and glasses and get in my inconspicuous car....
adieu.
