Change of scenery

I have to comment on the name of the blog changing - you see, my blog was Life of Scum, and I think it might have put people off reading this. It was a play on my first and last name, people call me scumbag as a joke so naturally this was my blog name - thing is, it's hard to explain that without getting into telling the story in every blog post, every time, SO - I'm trying to find a new name for my blog.

In the meantime it's 'Super Sam Land', but I'm pretty sure I'll be changing it again at some point if I'm inspired enough to do so! :P

New look to the blog as well, at the moment I'm loving it!

New years resolutions

So I re-read an old post from the start of last year which included some new years resolutions. I just thought it would be fun to see how I was getting on with them... here are the results

Start writing something. A book... anything.

CHECK - Book written, being edited and 2nd book getting started next week.

Write letters to friends. With a pen. And post them!

Not done, but there is always the intention to do it...

*Read more!

Um, done - read almost 50 books this year!

*Watch more films!

Probably could watch MORE films, but it's been a book year this year. Maybe film year NEXT year?

*Lose about 2 stone in weight and generally start exercising again!

DONE, and some. Lost 3 stone and keeping it off. Exercises kind of regularly and I'm kind of running now.

*Try to make people happier

Not sure if I managed this... still trying. 

*Stop stressing, and chill out more.

Definitely failing in this. But I'm working on it still!

*Blog less, but with better content.

Definitely failing at THIS, but oh well :P

*Get a new job.

Not done, BUT... well, see below!

*Figure out what I'm doing with my life... as per usual.

DONE. I decided to bite the bullet and just attempt to be a writer. It's kind of all I wanted to do for a long time and now it's a reality. I write. I'm not published, but that's the next stage.

*Bake more.

I would like to bake more, but then I eat all the cakes!

*Draw more.

My doodles are coming along well! haha, but I'm not drawing anything of importance. I'd like to do this more but things like this have gone on the backburner. I'll post about why at some point in the near future!

*Do more make up artist work.

I don't do this... I do spend more time on MY OWN makeup, but this is also on the backburner right now. Again, all will be explained in future posts!

It's not like I want to make resolutions, because it's so silly to think it takes the turn of they year to start doing things differently in your life. But I always make them so here is the mandatory blog of the things I say I will do, but won't!

As for this blog, I will continue to throw colour at it (As per request from Matt (start the blog man!) - and try to blog about more interesting things (not that I have anything interesting to say. hehe).

December came and went, melting with the snow

Brrr.

The snow! Which is all gone now, but boy was that annoying!

I have taken a break from the blog world pretty much all of this month I think - and I did it on purpose. What with all the coldness and working, and university work and my lack of enthusiasm for anything that involved any kind of thought process.

I think I'm going to re design my blog again. I don't know how or why, it was just a passing thought! I like doing all the colourful words and what not, but it is time consuming, so I don't know whether that is going to stay. I feel bad though because I think the colours are what make people stay and read ( if people do in fact read my blog ). We will see what happens.

So that was Christmas then? Another reason I didn't blog (I was reading them though), was because I kind of felt like there was nothing I could have added to the blogging world. Everyone had pretty much covered it. Snow? Check! Spending too much? Check! Eating too much? Check Check Check! But at the moment I am procrastinating so I figured that the best time to blog was when I was supposed to be writing an assignment. Which I just can't do right now.

I have had a damn cold for 3 weeks. 3 whole weeks of coughing, sniffing, being bunged up and now not being able to hear properly as my ears are blocked! Grrr. When will this end? Probably when I have to go back to work. Life's funny that way.

Ahhh, work. The work which I am going to quit this year. FOR DEFINITE. I say it every year, but I really feel like it's killing me slowly these days. I am hating every second of it, and I love my colleagues, and they were my only reason for staying in all the doom and gloom times, but not any more. I have started to see them as the enemy too, so I feel I HAVE to leave, if not for my sake, but for the sake of my friendships!

I ran out of things to say, so I will say, Happy New Year! I'm staying in this year and playing X box with my boyfriend (which he got me as a present) - who's with me? hehe.

Yep.

Thats right, the New Year Post. Anyone who's anyone does one, right? Well, I'm not anyone, but I guess I'll do one anyway. Boom, Pow.

I have to say it was a great Christmas/New year all round for this Scumbag. Great gifts from people, which included a new camera, Harry Potter Cluedo AND a giant space hopper (hell yeah, just wait for THOSE pictures to hit the page space). What more could a girl ask for? Not much. Gosh, I'm easy to please.

As for New Year. Its safe to say I pretty much hit the mark with Beatles Rock Band. 100% when singing along to some songs. Yeah, so what? I never had the guts to venture to the 'hard' mode. But thats just scary territory. We even brought the new year in to the Journey song 'Don't stop Believing'. Which wasn't planned, but had that really cool unintentionally awesome vibe going on. Muchos fun.

So what does new year bring to the table? I'm going to try and do some cool things this year. Hopefully (fingers crossed), try to do a dressmaking course. It starts next week though and the people haven't emailed me back to say there is space available. Curse them! I also want to look into doing a new make up course. Hopefully special FX and prostetics. P'raps. The main thing I want to do this year is find a job I actually want to do. I hate my job now. Its got to that point. But if I quit I put a scuffer in the whole 'move out' plan. However... in high hopes, I could end up landing a dream job with a great salary... so I might as well see whats out there. Only thing is I have no clue what I want to do with my life. Still..! and I turn 25 this year so I'm having mid-mid life crisis talks with myself. Not good!

I hope you all had a great festive period, and new year was good and only brings hope of new things to come and new adventures for you all (but not new adventures for superman... he's already had those, he can't have more!). I'm going to try to make my blog interesting at some point. But for now I think it suits that its just my internal monologue.
